In the framework of the UEFA Football and Refugee Grant Scheme 2018-2019, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of the Regional Representation of UNHCR for Central Europe and Bureau for Migration and Asylum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, in partnership with the Moldovan Football Federation built a mini football pitch at the Temporary Accommodation Centre (TAC) for asylum-seekers and refugees.

The pitch will be used by the asylum-seekers and refugees and by the nearby school children from Galata gymnasium and School no.49 to play football. The idea of building a mini football pitch was substantiated by the goal to facilitate integration of refugees and asylum-seekers into the Moldovan society, promoting social inclusion and raising awareness on discrimination while providing sport opportunities.

CCR expresses its gratitude to the UEFA and Moldovan Football Federation for their interest and constant support to encourage refugees and asylum-seekers to play football at any time.
