On 2nd of June 2021, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Bureau of Migration and Asylum, marked the International Children’s Day with the children and women from the refugee community and mixed families.
The online meeting was aimed to remember the meaning of the celebration. In the context of pandemic restrictions, the meeting provided them with a space to discuss the beauty of the most wonderful period, namely childhood. All over the world, the holiday dedicated to children is celebrated once a year, in the Republic of Moldova – June 1, in other countries – November 20 – the International Child Rights Day: the right to have a name, education, play, medical care, rest, protection, etc. During the meeting was presented a Slide Show about the International Children’s Day and after, the children recited poems, guessed riddles and were very active, telling how passed this school year.
This event united many children and women from Afghanistan, Armenia, Iraq, Moldova, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
CCR’s staff wishes all the children to have a nice childhood and to stay healthy! Happy Children’s Day!
