Following the first meeting in December 2018 with the representatives from Moldovan Football Federation, a meeting that laid the foundation for a future collaboration, now is a historical moment: the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR) was granted a one year project starting on July 1st 2019 and which is for the first time funded by UEFA in the field of asylum in the Republic of Moldova.

From those 18 candidate countries for the UEFA grant for 2019-2020 (Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, England, France, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, Republic of Ireland, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey), following a thorough review by the UEFA Fair Play and Social Responsibility Committee and two external experts at the meeting of May 2nd 2019, only 6 countries were selected: Belgium, Italy, Malta, Moldova, Switzerland and Netherlands.

Thanks to this project, the development of mass football, the organization of football matches between the refugee community and the native population will lead to better integration into the host society and the elimination of all forms of discrimination.

CCR would like to express its gratitude to the Moldovan Football Federation team for their support to refugee community. It is a common success of the Charity Centre for Refugees and Moldovan Football Federation in the field of football.
