On 4th of March, 2017 Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of Unites Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) held a party in its offices to celebrate in advance the women’s day. The guests were greeted with a martisor gift done by refugee children and women at CCR and TAC.

Then, the party started with a welcome speech by CCR’s director, Mr. Djavid Paknehad, UNHCR representant, Mrs. Jioara Svetlana and representant from refugee community.

After those speeches, CCR staff and volunteers had a presentation about Martisor’s meaning and its legends that was performed in Russian, Romanian and Arabic so all our guests could understand it. Besides it was a presentation about important international and national women in history.

This celebration counted with the participation of some of refugee children who sang songs and poems dedicated to all mothers.

After all this, the lottery was celebrated, distributing different gifts among the participants. To the end of the event, a refreshment was offered to all participants who enjoyed this snack in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.

Finally, CCR staff and volunteers dismissed the guests by giving them flowers and chocolates, wishing them a happy woman’s day and thanking them for their presence at the event.
