International Women’s Day for refugee and asylum-seeking women and girls 2020

On 06th of March 2020, at the Community Centre, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Bureau of Migration and Asylum, celebrated the International Women’s Day for all the refugee and asylum-seeking women and their daughters, and for ladies from mix families from such countries as: Syria, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Iraq, Armenia, etc.

At the opening, the Director of CCR, Mr. Djavid Paknehad, and the representatives from the Law Centre for Advocates, Mrs. Natalia Postaru and Mrs. Tatiana Chebac, welcomed the refugee community wishing them a splendid spring, a warm atmosphere in their families and happiness.

Then, in the slide-show, were presented the main information about “Martisor” and the celebration of 8th of March – ended by a blitz-test with questions, whose winners received some gifts.

At the end the women and the girls had a sweet table, the kids uttered poems about mothers and everybody received some symbolical presents offered by CCR through the support of UNHCR, as such kind of celebrations unites different countries, cultures, and life stories.
