On 27th of April 2021, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Bureau of Migration and Asylum, marked the coming holiday, Easter, with women, children and men from the refugee community and mixed families.
This online meeting was aimed especially for new people from the refugee community, to let them know the key moments about Easter, what precedes this holiday, how long lasts the fasting, when Easter is celebrated and what follows in the week after Easter – the Easter of those who passed away.
The event was attended by 80 refugees, beneficiaries of humanitarian protection and asylum seekers from Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Libya and Kyrgyzstan as well as several mixed families and the whole CCR’s staff. All the asylum seekers that live at the Temporary Accommodation Centre and refugee community received special Easter cakes, named “pasca”.
CCR thanks all the persons who attended the meeting and congratulates all the Orthodox Christians with the coming of the greatest holiday for them – the Easter!
