On 28th of December 2018, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR) within the collaboration with UNHCR Moldova and Bureau of Migration and Asylum organized the celebration of the winter holidays for refugee and asylum-seeking children at the “Licurici” Puppet Theatre.

Refugee and asylum-seeking children with their parents and locals were warmly welcomed by the Director of CCR, Mr. Djavid Paknehad, the Head of UNHCR Moldova Mr. Traian Turcanu and the Head of the Directorate of Asylum and Integration of the Bureau of Migration and Asylum, Mr. Iulian Popov.

In order to integrate effectively refugees, both adults and children, at the event participated local children from Mereni and Razeni villages, where CCR coordinates eight social apartments and Galata school near the Temporary Accommodation Centre, where asylum-seeking children are studying.

The festive programme of the event included Santa Claus and Snow White and puppet performance. Once it ended, CCR distributed Christmas gifts to all children and wished them a Happy New Year. The event was aiming at familiarizing refugee and asylum-seeking children and their parents with local traditions, and habits.
