International Women’s Day for refugee and asylum-seeking women and girls

On 07th of March 2019, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of UNHCR and Bureau of Migration and Asylum (BMA), organised at the Community Centre, celebration of the International Women’s Day for more than 80 asylum-seeking, refugee and mix families’ women and girls from countries such as Iraq, Syria, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen, Armenia etc.

The director of the CCR, Mr. Djavid Paknehad and the Head of the Asylum and Integration (DAI) Directorate from BMA, Mr. Iulian Popov, congratulated refugee and asylum-seeking women and girls. Meanwhile, refugee women took initiative and encouraged each other to be more active and stronger, to be beautiful and sensitive, and also, to take part in social and cultural events, actions etc.

Beneficiaries got presents for the International Women’s Day, offered by the CCR and UNHCR that were coroneted with a tiny Marţişor. It was a wonderful day that unified the refugee and asylum-seeking women community and reminded how big a reason it is to be proud of being a woman.
