VISIT OF THE MOLDOVAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION PRESIDENT AT THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

On 20th of December 2019, the President of the Moldovan Football Federation, Mr. Leonid Oleinicenco and the Marketing Manager, Mrs. Diana Bulgaru had a follow up meeting with a group of refugees from Syria, India, Afghanistan, Yemen, Sudan and others at the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR) premises.

The meeting aimed at sharing outputs regarding activities that were implemented by CCR in partnership with the Moldovan Football Federation in the framework of the project funded by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for 2019-2020. In particular, refugees expressed their gratitude for the school supplies distributed to their children, their participation at the matches between Moldova with Andorra and Albania where they could accompany the football players on the arena. Also, refugees mentioned the importance of the tuition fees that were covered for 10 students for higher education, for two children to attend a football club for a year and for two adults that started football trainer courses. CCR informed the guests that a mini football pitch is being build at the Temporary Accommodation Centre for asylum-seekers.

The director of CCR, Mr. Djavid Paknehad thanked the Moldovan Football Federation for their support to the refugee community in the Republic of Moldova. The President of the Moldovan Football Federation highlighted that the project is valuable for it increases the cohesion of the society and supports refugees to feel part of it. Furthermore, the Moldovan Football Federation committed to look for opportunities to continue the collaboration beyond the ongoing project.
