On 20th of April, Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), Partner of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Moldova celebrated Easter at CCR premises. The event gathered more than 60 men, women and children – beneficiaries of our centre.
Despite heterogeneous religious backgrounds, refugees enjoyed the wishes of the Priest Constantin Cojocaru who came, for the third year, within the collaboration of CCR and Metropolis of Moldova, to inform the beneficiaries and their families about the meaning of the Easter and customs that local people follow up. Also, the meaning of this important celebration was explored through an entertaining way. The CCR staff and EVS volunteers organized a quiz, which “tested” knowledge of the refugees about Easter and awarded the winners with delicious prizes.
At the end of the event, everyone was invited to taste the typical Easter delicacy, among which were offered painted eggs prepared, as the original recipe teaches, with the help of the refugees.
