The Head of the Regional Office of UNHCR in Budapest, Mrs. Montserrat Feixas Vihe paid a working visit to the Charity Centre for Refugees on 11 December 2019 and met with refugee community representatives from countries such as Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Sudan, Kyrgyzstan and other.
The meeting aimed at finding out issues and challenges refugees and asylum-seekers face with in order to advocate their rights and entitlement with the Government and also, to identify the positive experiences that impacted their lives in the Republic of Moldova as result of the assistance and support provided by the UNHCR partners and state institutions.
Mrs. Feixas Vihe informed refugees that UNHCR will continue in 2020 to provide protection and assistance to refugees and asylum-seekers in the Republic of Moldova through its partners – the Charity Centre for Refugees and the Law Centre of Advocates.
