On 28th of December 2020, the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), within UNHCR Project organized the celebration of the winter holidays for refugee, asylum-seeking and mixed family children on ZOOM platform.
The children and their parents were warmly welcomed by CCR’s Director (Mr. Djavid Paknehad). The UNHCR’s representative (Mr. Serghei Gaina) and Head of the Asylum and Integration Directorate within the Bureau of Migration and Asylum (Mr. Iulian Popov) congratulated the refugee community and both of them wished to have the first and the last winter holidays celebrated online and meet again each one when the life will return into its normality.
The pandemic did not impede the refugee children to perform, by reciting poems and sharing good wishes, named in Romanian “urături”. All of them were actively involved in answering riddles and each child received gifts from CCR.
At the end of the online meeting (where participated more than 120 persons from Afghanistan, Armenia, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Yemen and Moldova), some of the present parents brought their gratitude to UNHCR, BMA and CCR for all the support during such a difficult and hard year.
