On 22 June 2021, director of the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), Mr. Djavid Paknehad had a meeting with the rector of the Pedagogical University “Ion Creanga”, Mrs. Alexandra Barbaneagra. In the framework of the bilateral collaboration, refugees and asylum-seekers could access language courses at the university for a long time. Due to circumstances, the courses were stopped for a determined period of time and now parties are ready to resume the language course as the refugee community is in need to learn and speak the language which is an important tool for integration into the Moldovan society. Lessons will be held in the framework of the UNHCR program both online and offline to be accessible for a wide group of refugees and asylum-seekers from the city and the Temporary Accommodation Centre.
Mrs. Alexandra Barbaneagra welcomed the initiative and ensured that the university is open to help refugees and asylum-seekers to learn the language. Following the meeting, parties will sign a common agreement of collaboration.
