Starting from 1st July, twice per week refugee and asylum-seeking women and children are gathering at the Community Centre and Temporary Accommodation Centre to organize within summer school various useful activities and handicrafts, also, to learn Romanian language to be able to communicate with locals.
The summer school is a tradition of the Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR) that implements it during many years to facilitate refugee and asylum-seeking women’s self-reliance and resilience, to enable them and children with development skills , gives the opportunity to communicate and share ideas, plans, it works as art therapy. The activity is supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) within the project partnership agreement for 2019.
The summer school that lasts two months is led by Mrs. Maria M Kall, the Women Community Mediator, who has experienced living in Arabic countries, speak Arabic language, has knowledge about refugee culture and is strong in handmade stuff.
The summer school handicrafts will be exposed later at the local festivals that CCR attends regularly such as Inter-ethnic festival, Charity Bazaar and others.
