The XXII edition of the International Winter Charity Bazaar

On 9th of December, Charity Centre for Refugees (CCR), partner of UNHCR Moldova and Bureau of Migration and Asylum participated at the International Winter Charity Bazaar – an event organized by the International Women`s Club Moldova (IWCM – partner of CCR since 1999). CCR has been participating together with refugee community for the XIXth consecutive year.

The handicrafts made by the refugee, asylum-seeking and beneficiary of humanitarian protection women and children in the period of summer school were on sale. Visitors bought Christmas trees, postcards, friendship bracelets, warm helmets, sweets and other. The event started with a concert where, traditionally, the refugee community presented a beautiful Indian dance.

At the event were present CCR staff, including European volunteer and our two interns from Free International University of Moldova who helped in promotion of the handicrafts, as well as the refugee community representatives from Iraq, Afghanistan, India etc. CCR stand was visited by the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Moldova, Ms. Dafina Gercheva and the President of IWCM, Ms. Maria Marinuta.

CCR expresses its gratitude to the IWCM for organizing year by year this event. The collected money at the International Winter Charity Bazaar will be distributed by IWCM in 2019 to organizations specialized in charity and volunteering to help vulnerable children and adults.
